WHY WAIT FOR US? FAIR QUESTION.

What's true today — and why
we're not selling generators yet.

Plenty of shops will sell you a generator this week. Here's where we actually are, so you can decide what's right for your home with real information.

🔧 The electrical side? Already ours.

✓ In-house today

Transfer equipment, interlocks, panel and service work — the licensed foundation under any generator — is work we do now, in our own name, permitted and inspected.

🤝 The dealer side? Not yet.

△ Coming — honestly

Brand certifications, warranty support, and a real service program are what make a generator dealer worth using. Ours are in the works, and you'll see badges on this page the day they're earned — not before.

🔋 Need backup before then?

✓ Installed and operational now

Home batteries and vehicle-to-home cover most Central Virginia outages today — silently, with no fuel and no maintenance. For week-long storms, the generator is worth the wait; we'll tell you which fits.

ONE INTEGRATION NOTE, SINCE WE'LL BE HONEST ABOUT IT ANYWAY

A standby generator can work alongside a home battery in a properly designed system — but no standard exists yet for a generator feeding a vehicle-to-home setup, and nobody should sell you that today. When we design your backup, every piece either works together now or we say plainly that it doesn't yet.

Get on the generator list.

You'll hear from us the moment installs open — with early scheduling priority. In the meantime, tell us about your outages and we'll give you the straight answer on whether a battery or V2H covers you until then. The form comes pre-set to the generator list — just add your name and where you are.

FAQ

Generator questions, answered honestly.

When will GreenKey install standby generators?

Generators are next on our roadmap after batteries and vehicle-to-home — and we won't launch until our certifications and service setup are real. A generator that doesn't get serviced doesn't start when you need it, so we're building the whole program, not just the install crew. Join the list and you'll hear first.

What can you do for my backup power today?

Two things, right now: home battery storage (Tesla Powerwall and GM Energy) and vehicle-to-home (Tesla Powershare and GM Energy V2H) — both installed and operational on Central Virginia homes. And the electrical groundwork for a future generator — panel capacity, transfer equipment — is work we can do on any visit.

Which brands will you carry?

We'll announce brands when the certifications are earned — not before. That's the same rule as everywhere else on this site: no unearned badges.

Generator or battery — which should I get?

Short version: batteries win the everyday outages (silent, instant, no fuel) and can earn their keep on time-of-use rates; generators win the week-long storms. The honest comparison lives in our backup power guide — or ask us and we'll run your actual outage history.
