● LAST VERIFIED: JULY 2026 — REVIEWED MONTHLY

What's possible right now —
and what's coming.

Home energy tech is moving fast, and most of it only works inside each manufacturer's own ecosystem. We keep this list current so you know exactly what you can build today, and what's worth waiting for.

✓ WORKING TODAY

  • Tesla home: solar-ready Powerwall 3 + Wall Connector; Powershare backup if you drive a Cybertruck
  • GM home: GM Energy V2H — Silverado, Blazer, Equinox EV & more — with GM PowerBank and solar
  • Kia EV9: whole-home backup via the Wallbox Quasar 2 bidirectional charger
  • Any home, any car: battery + standby generator + solar, integrated by a FranklinWH-class energy controller (our certification is in progress)
  • Everyone: Level 2 charging, panel upgrades — and time-of-use rate optimization if you can enroll: Dominion's Off-Peak Plan is a limited pilot (capped enrollment, smart meter required). We check your eligibility as part of any design.

◐ ROLLING OUT

  • Powershare + Powerwall integration — Tesla says mid-2026, arriving via software update
  • Hyundai Ioniq 9 / Kia EV6 V2H via Quasar 2 — expected 2026–27
  • Enphase bidirectional charger — brand-agnostic V2H, volume production slated late 2026
  • GM V2H expanding across the 2026–27 Ultium lineup, incl. the next Bolt

✕ NOT THERE YET

  • Cross-brand V2H — no carmaker's system powers your home from another brand's EV
  • Powershare on Model 3/Y/S/X — Cybertruck only, for now
  • Generators feeding V2H systems — the standards aren't written yet
  • “One system, everything talks” — anyone promising this today is selling you a story

THE QUESTION EVERYONE ASKS

Generator, battery, or your EV?

Three ways to keep your house alive when the grid dies. We're not tied to one answer — you'll get the straight case for each, and which one actually fits your home.

⛽ Standby generator

✓ Runs for days on fuel
△ Noise, maintenance, fuel cost

The endurance option — best for long outages and all-electric homes with big loads.

MOST CHOSEN

🔋 Home battery

✓ Silent, instant, earns money daily via TOU rates
△ Hours-to-a-day of backup per unit

The everyday workhorse — pays for itself even when the power never goes out.

🚗 Your EV (V2H)

✓ Huge battery you already own
△ Only specific vehicles today

The clever option — if your vehicle and hardware line up. We'll tell you straight if they don't.

THE FOUNDATION
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
JOHN 3:16
“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
ROMANS 5:8
“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”
JOHN 14:6
“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
ROMANS 10:9

God loves you. He sent His Son Jesus to die for you — and Jesus is the way to the Father. Receiving Him is simple: confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. That is the foundation this company is built on, and it matters more than anything we will ever install.

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
MATTHEW 22:37–39

That command is why Love God · Love People is painted on our vans. It isn’t a slogan — it’s our response: because of what Jesus did for us, we want to do what He asks of us. “We love because he first loved us” (1 John 4:19). It begins with His love, it saves through His Son, and it comes back around in how we treat every customer, every job, every day.

BUILT FOR CENTRAL VIRGINIA

Serving Powhatan, Richmond & beyond.

Local means local: we're based in Powhatan and work where you live — we know the jurisdictions, the inspectors, and Dominion's rate plans.

Straight answers.

How much does a Level 2 EV charger installation cost?

Most Central Virginia homes land between $700 and $2,400 installed, depending on panel location and wire run. You'll get an exact number — the real, no-fee price — before any work starts.

Can my EV really power my house?

Some can, today: Cybertruck (Tesla Powershare), GM's Ultium EVs (GM Energy V2H), and the Kia EV9 (Wallbox Quasar 2). Most others can't yet — see "The honest state of home energy" above, which we update monthly.

Do I need a permit?

Almost always yes, and that's good — it means an independent inspector verifies the work. We handle the permit and inspection in every jurisdiction we serve. It's included, not an upsell.

What about the "3-cent overnight electricity" I keep hearing about?

Mostly a mix-up worth clearing: Virginia's genuinely cheap overnight rates (3–5¢/kWh) belong to certain electric co-ops — Craig-Botetourt, Rappahannock, and Southside Electric's time-of-use plans among them. Dominion's Off-Peak Plan is more modest: overnight power at about 13.4¢ versus a 16–18¢ standard rate, with summer afternoons costing roughly double. It requires a smart meter Dominion rolls out on its own schedule, and it can't stack with programs like EV Charging Rewards. We check what your utility actually offers — see our Rates & Savings guide — before that math ever goes in your quote.

Battery or generator — which should I get?

Depends on your outages, loads, and budget. Short version: batteries earn their keep daily on time-of-use rates; generators win week-long storms. Either way, you'll get the real math, not a pitch.

Let's build your energy independence.

Tell us about your home and what you're hoping for. You'll hear from us right away — and a real person, usually Jonathan, follows up within one business day.
